活在自我世界中的喬西，遨游在自己感興趣的繪畫和書籍的海洋中。自幼便一直坐在輪椅上的她，某天在一個危險的斜坡上差點摔倒的時候，得到了大學(xué)生恒夫的幫助。專攻海洋生物學(xué)的恒夫，為了實現(xiàn)自己能夠親眼看一下只生活在墨西哥的夢幻魚群的夢想，日夜不停地在進(jìn)行著兼職打工。和喬西相依為命的祖母千津看到這樣的恒夫，向他介紹了一份兼職工作。這份工作的內(nèi)容就是聽從喬西的要求，并想辦法滿足她。然而，固執(zhí)且不善與他人交流的喬西對恒夫非常刻薄，而恒夫也沒有在意喬西是個殘疾人，直率地回應(yīng)她。就這樣逐漸地，雙方的距離縮短，開始了解對方。在兩人接觸的過程中，喬西也下定決心，要與恒夫一起去看看自己夢寐以求的外面世界……影片改編自田邊圣子小說《Jose與虎與魚們》。
