春日部突然有人辦了“20世紀博覽會”，大人們沉浸在舊時的電節(jié)目和電影、日生活里，不過小等小孩子們感到味索然。當大人從博覽會回來后每個人都開始變懶散，不僅不再家事、也不再到司里去上班，每只知沉迷在舊時電視節(jié)目、或是耍里，并且開始小新等小孩子們若無睹。有一天然出現(xiàn)幾輛卡車把所有大人載走只留下春日部里所有小孩。原來一切都是一個名“yesterday once more”（昨日重現(xiàn)）的組織的為,為了使爸爸媽媽回來巴國小新和友們決定一起去……路上敵人不的追趕（包括小的爸爸媽媽和幼園的老師們），們能夠成功嗎?
