妻子度假期間，丈夫理查·沙爾曼（湯姆·伊威爾 Tom Ewell 飾）因為一次花盆事件，結(jié)識三樓鄰居、電視廣告明星瑪麗蓮·夢露 Marilyn Monroe 飾）。對方如洋娃娃般的美貌令這個已婚男人為之傾倒并且在一次酒會上，在她鋼琴的時候，坐在她的 旁邊，作出了不雅的舉動。后，湯姆陷入了深深的懊之中，他求教于心理醫(yī)生對方指出他的病癥，引誘付高價診治。湯姆沒有理，開始自己的心理分析，對此事做出了一系列添油醋的幻想。他擔(dān)心這個八會傳到妻子耳中，這種擔(dān)逐漸轉(zhuǎn)向了對后者出軌的疑。于是，湯姆在性幻想左右下，約了這個女孩一看電影，并請她來家中做。后者因為家里的電扇不冷而貪戀他家的空調(diào)，因希望來這里過夜，結(jié)果鬧不少笑話…?
